Bringing meaningful theatre to children across the North-West

Theatre that sees children, hears them, and gives them something worth holding on to.

Professional actor and director Lauren Greenwood founded &Scene Theatre Co. with a clear purpose: to bring theatre that is accessible and transformative to young people, while directly supporting local charities and communities.

We tour to primary schools, libraries, and children's theatre festivals -performing in the spaces where children already are, without needing to travel to a stage.

We believe in being different

Playful

Every show is designed to spark joy alongside meaning: a laugh, a gasp, a moment where a child leans forward without realising it.

Authentic

Our performers commit fully with honesty on stage that moves children to write something true of their own when the show ends.

Purposeful

Every production is crafted with clear themes and outcomes that link to the curriculum, children’s wellbeing, and inspire creativity.

Generous

A proportion of profits is donated to a different local charity each month, because the further the social good travels, the better!

Our current performance

“Letters I
Never Sent”

A one-person show performed by Lauren Greenwood. Through a series of letters never quite sent, she takes children on an intimate journey through the words we carry but struggle to say.

After the performance, every child takes part in a writing activity. They leave with the start of a letter they wrote themselves - sealed, personal, and theirs to keep.

  • Duration: 40-min show + 20-min activity

  • Age group: Ages 8+ (Years 3-4)

  • Space: Any hall, library or classroom

  • Curriculum: KS2 English, PSHE, SEMH
