&Scene Theatre Co. is owned and operated by Lauren Greenwood, a professional actor, director, and workshop facilitator based in the North-West of England. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Lauren Greenwood trading as &Scene Theatre Co. is the data controller for this website.

As a small sole trader, we are not currently required to register with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), but we are fully committed to complying with all applicable data protection legislation.

What personal data we collect

We collect only what we need. When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect your name, role, organisation, and email address, along with any information you include in your message. When you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address only. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visit. This is collected via cookies - see the cookies section below.

We do not collect payment details, sensitive personal data, or personal data from children through this website.

Newsletter

Our newsletter is opt-in only. We collect your email address when you subscribe, and we use it solely to send you updates about &Scene Theatre Co. including new productions, tour dates, and our monthly charity partner. We do not share your email address with anyone else for marketing purposes.

Our lawful basis for this processing is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any newsletter email or by emailing andscenetheatre@gmail.com. We will remove your address promptly.

We use your enquiry details to respond to your message. Our lawful basis for this is legitimate interests - we have a clear and reasonable interest in responding to people who contact us. We use your email address to send the newsletter on the basis of your consent. We use website analytics data on the basis of your consent. We use essential technical data on the basis of legitimate interests to keep the site functioning and secure.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We use Squarespace to host our website, and a third-party platform to send our newsletter. Both act as data processors on our behalf and are bound by appropriate data processing terms. If you consent to analytics cookies, anonymised data may be shared with our analytics provider. We may also disclose data if required to do so by law.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where this is the case, appropriate safeguards are in place in line with UK GDPR requirements.

How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry correspondence for up to three years from last contact. We keep your newsletter email address until you unsubscribe, at which point we delete it promptly. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Cookie consent records are kept for up to 12 months. If you would like us to delete your data sooner, please get in touch.

Children

Our website is directed at adults including school staff, headteachers, and other professional bookers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this website. When we perform in schools, we do not collect or retain personal data about individual children. If you believe a child has submitted data through our website, please contact us immediately.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to our processing, to receive your data in a portable format where applicable, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is our lawful basis.

Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to personal data is restricted to Lauren Greenwood as data controller. We use reputable third-party platforms that maintain their own security standards. In the unlikely event of a data breach posing a risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours as required, and notify you directly if the risk to you is high.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. If we make significant changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.
