Frequently asked questions
Any cleared hall, library, or classroom. Lauren needs an area of roughly 4m × 3m for the performance. Children can sit on the floor, chairs, or benches. No stage, no blackout, no technical setup required.
1
What space do you need?
The performance is fully self-contained. Schools provide the space and the children. We encourage every child to come with a piece of paper and a pen or pencil.
2
What do you bring?
How much does it cost?
The standard performance and activity is £260. Additional monologues (To My Bully, To My Divergent Friend, or other themes) are POA. Multiple sessions can be held on the same day for a discounted rate. Please enquire directly.
3
How many children per session?
4
Up to 40 children per performance, which allows the show to remain genuinely intimate. Multiple sessions can be scheduled in a single school day for larger groups or school-wide events.
How far in advance should we book?
5
6-8 weeks is recommended for term-time dates, which fill up quickly. Shorter lead times are always worth enquiring about, as availability varies and last-minute bookings can be facilitated.
Can we choose which letters are performed?
6
Yes. The standard show includes all six letters, but the set list is flexible on request, particularly if your school is focusing on a specific theme. Additional monologues on bullying and neurodiversity are available and priced on application.
Is it suitable for SEND or SEMH settings?
7
Yes, and it has been designed with this in mind. The activity is fully flexible - children are never pressured to share, and the letter is entirely personal. Lauren has direct experience in these settings and is happy to discuss specific considerations in advance.
Yes. Lauren holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate and is fully insured for work in schools and public performance settings. Documentation is available on request and provided with every booking confirmation.
8
Is Lauren DBS checked?
Do staff need to perform anything?
9
No preparation required. At least one adult member of staff should remain in the room throughout the session. Lauren will handle everything else, including setup, performance, facilitation, and pack-down. A short debrief with staff afterwards is available if helpful.
Can you perform at libraries or festivals?
10
Absolutely. &Scene tours to libraries, children's literature festivals, and arts venues as well as schools. The format adapts for public-facing and mixed-age events. Get in touch to discuss what that looks like for your event.
